It sounds like you installed the Portuguese version instead of the English
version... ? What is the language property for %windir%\system32\wmploc.dll
?

I am English living in Portugal. I have Portuguese version of XP on my
computer (no cost option) This in itself isn't too much of a problem, but
for
some reason the latest update of Windows media Player (which used to
display
in English) now displays in Portuguese language. Is there a way to switch
this back? I noticed that with other programs, eg Garmin Mapsource, they
second guess your requirement by changing the display language to that of
the
Windows version. Other more enlightened companies give you the option of
which language to install. Grateful for any work round.
