I have media player 11 and am running Vista. Whenever I click on a website
link, to view online video, the streaming video doesn't work and I keep
getting the following error message:
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the specified protocol is
not supported. In the Open URL dialog, try opening the file using a different
transport protocol (for example, 'mms:' or 'http:')" I have the latest
updates and I have checked the protocol settings and they are OK (HTTP:
Browse and RTSP: None) I have tried everything...Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

It would help if you give the url of a site with the problem and tell
which video link you use, if there is more than one. If you have a
Real player also, bring it up and enter the site url in the form
provided from one of the tabs at the top of the Real player. The site
will come up in the Real window, and you can click on the site link to
see if it plays on Real.
