I traded it in for a new one, reformatted, and re-re-updated the firmware.
The problem escapes me.

I have a Zen Vision:M 30gb with firmware 1.61.01 (the latest) and it works
like a champ. Maybe the firmware update didn't work correctly, have you
tried re-flashing your firmware just as a check?

Since you had problems with other software, it's likely the firmware rather
than the software.

downloaded WMP 11 and tried that. Not gettin so lucky. It's recognized on
my computer, but not under WMP 11. I even tried uninstalling the device and
reconnecting it and it stil won't show up. Does anyone know how to fix this?
