Re: WMP 11 tells me to install a burner

Hi Victoia,

With Sonic it's either going to be Drag to Disc or DLA (Drive Letter
Access).

To disable DLA, you would follow the instructions on this website:
http://www.howtogurus.com/support/Dell%20-%20Disable%20Sonic%20DLA.pdf

To disable Drag to Disc, go into your Control Panel, open the Add or Remove
Programs applet. Find your Sonic (it might also be called Roxio, they're the
same company) software and double click it. You should be offered two
options, one to uninstall, the other to change what's installed.

Select the Change what's installed option, then find Drag to Disc in the
list and uncheck it.

After you reboot the computer, you *should* be okay.

I don't have Drag-to -Disc installed, so just a guess.
You should have an icon in the System tray (near the clock),
right-click this, and choose from the list that pops up.

If you have Sonic/Roxio software installed,
try shutting down Drag-to-Disc.

but, I have not changed anything on my computer.

I have xp2002 vesion. I have burned ALOT of cds and all the sudden
it tells me to install a burner. so, i didn't mess with it and just
used
my
sonic burner and it worked ok. but, I like the media player better.
I checked to make sure the cd properties allow cd burning was checked
and it is. I have done the updates on the micosoft website and still
the
media player is reading "install a burner" I would be so grateful if
someone could tell me what to do?

thank you!
