Re: CD's not playing right

Ken,
Sorry to get back to you late, I notice you have two CD drives. Do both
of them behave the same way? I don't recall and don't see in the thread
anywhere your mentioning it.
I also see this:
CyberLink AudioCD Filter (PDVD6),0x00600000,0,1,CLAudioCD.ax,5.00.0000.3114
and this:
Nero Audio CD Filter,0x00200000,0,1,NeAudCD.ax,3.02.0000.0030
Doing a quick search of the internet shows that with some applications these
can cause audio distortion.
The normal troubleshooting method to see if this is the culprit is to rename
the file to something else, then restart your system and try playing whatever
it is that you're having problems with.
I'm looking at the rest of your filters and what I see astounds me. You
have two separate line 21 decoders, three MPEG2 splitters a couple of MPEG2
encoders and Decoders, etc. How many video editing/authoring packages and
codec packages do you have installed?
I'm asking because if you've ever had problems playing DVD movies on WMP in
Windows XP, having multiple decoders will definitely contribute to your bad
experience. They all think they're the most important so they have a
tendency to fight over who gets what part of DVD playback.
Anyway, the important thing to look at is the audio CD filters and see if
renaming them to something else and then restarting Windows will resolve the
issue you're having.

Thanks!
