No video. For the future, information like this is important to post
upfront. Okay?

I need to know what version of Windows you're running, what Web Browser (and
version) you're running. Also, I want you to click "Start -> Run, type in
DXDIAG and press enter.

Wait until the little green bar in the lower left corner disappears (answer
no about the WHQL drivers if asked).

Once you've done that, click the Display tab. On that tab you'll find
information about your video display card and the driver version. Please
post here the information that I've listed out below:

Name:
Manufacturer:
Chip Type:
Main Driver:
Version:
Date:

Then close the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.

Mike,

It doesnt come up with any error, it loads the codec, but it doesnt
automatically play the file as per usual. you have to click on the Tab "Now
Playing" and when you do so only the voice's can be heard, no pic. ?????

"Mike Poz [MSFT]" wrote:

Ahh, you installed new software, that could have actually broken the codecs
for the content you're playing.

Don't delete the files, instead tell me the error message that WMP is giving
you when you attempt to play the content.

I need to know the text of the dialog, and I also need you to click the "Web
Help" button on the error dialog and then give me the URL of the web page
that opens up.

Mike,

Have no idea what video card/chipset is???? Had no problem with WMP until
yesterday, I tried using another torrent downloader instead of BitComet, can
this make a difference with the codecs??? Have since unistalled that program,
gone back to BitComet, but the files still wont play the pic. Should I
delete all the torrents from WMP and then re-add them to the library???
Thanks,
Melissa

Hi,

First question: Have you updated your video drivers to the latest available
from your video card/chipset manufacturer? For some video cards this makes a
huge difference.

Can someone help me please, I have downloaded torrents through BitComet and
for the last 5 weeks have had no problem viewing them through Windows Media
Player 10. But as of yesterday it will no longer play the picture it plays it
as a music file only, so hence can only hear the voices etc. Do you know how
to fix this problem so that i can view the pictures again?????
