Quartz.dll -PROBLEM?

I see that this problem has been pretty popular in this forum. Any
information to solve my problem would be appreciated.

I got the typical:

Windows Media Player has encountered a problem and needs to close. We
are sorry for the inconvenience.

AppName: wmplayer.exe AppVer: 11.0.5721.5145
ModName: quartz.dll
ModVer: 6.5.2600.2749 Offset: 0009ddec

I can't open MPEG's or WMP files...HELP!
