RE: Song Titles Starting With A Number Display Incorrectly In Now

Ok. Thanks. I don't think it exhibited this behaviour before WMP 11 so
hopefully we'll see it fixed in WMP 12.

I see what you're talking about.

The behaviour I was talking about is if you queue up content by two or more
artists, the performing artist name gets appended to the track title in a
ghosted manner. I have a tendency to grab a bunch of tracks and add them to
the playlist.

I dragged as single track into the playlist that starts with an integer and
I see that the artist name is appended. It's a user interface bug and it's
not something that can be enabled or disabled. Because it doesn't cause
crashing or data loss it's not going to be fixed in any updates to WMP 11 so
you're going to have to live with it.

I'll make sure that a bug gets entered on it for the next version of the
player.

I did that before posting and what you are saying is not accurate. All other
tracks for the given album show only the song title. Only tracks that start
with a number append the artist name. I have tested it with other tracks, as
well. I can supply screen shots if you wish to see it.

Actually if you make the Now Playing playlist wide enough you'll see that the
extra information becomes visible for all the files. It just may be that
this track title is short enough to allow it in the width to which you
currently have it set.

And this cannot be disabled, only hidden by making the playlist width
narrower than what you have now.

I am using the latest version of Windows Media Player 11 and I noticed
something odd today. If you have a song that starts with a number, e.g. '2
Minutes To Midnight', it will display incorrectly when added to the Now
Playing List. It will append the artist name to the track as follows: 2
Minutes To Midnight - Iron Maiden. My guess is that it interprets the '2' as
a track number instead of part of the song title. If you change the '2' to
'Two' the Now Playing will update to correctly display Two Minutes To
Midnight as the song. How do I fix this behaviour?
