Re: Multiple Album pictures

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Interesting thoughts both. Microsoft may have copyrights only to front covers (and thus download them automatically, replacing & destroying your hi-res scans) but many users have scanned in their own covers; it would be nice for WMP11 to have the functionality to display these in some way.

Perhaps in the next version. Ideally the "now playing" window should feature a large image of the album cover as the main artwork, with options to rotate through the other artworks, or alternatively to display the rear/cd/etc at the same time, underneath the cover and perhaps in a smaller size. Of course it should continue to display the album tracks/length/bitrate etc.

Hej

Many thanks for exelent knowledge you share.
Your advice fits well into the old knowledge/saying:
...you shall not cross the river to fetch water....

I have just made some prel test of the capabilities of the software.
just some remarks:
There are no exact possibility to control when a picture shall change. You
can however set an individual show time for each picture, in decimals of
seconds.
( my pictures are music scores and it is hard to know exact when it is time
to 'turn page'.)

If I had a collection with mp3 stored in WMP I think it is possible to
transform them all into the video format and still handle them in VMP. As
many album picture as you like can then be appended to each song.

The increase of filesize is very modest One mp3 went from 1,3 Mb to 1,6 as a
videofile with five pictures. But that may depend on many things.

Beside the pictures you can do a lot of other things , adding text..
You can even sing along and record it , in order to destroy your collection.

I have some problem with the clarity of the pictures, They are pdfs
transformed into jpg. But there are other possibilities I will try. The reson
of unclarity may have many reasons, mind and gogles.

regards

If that's what Kohler is also looking for, then sadly both he and you are out
of luck, at least where WMP is concerned, and I don't know of any software
that supports that functionality you've described.

Additionally, downloading and displaying album art is something that needs
to be licensed from the people who own the copyright on it, that includes
back cover art, etc. Microsoft only has rights to front cover art, and only
in the limited scope that we provide in WMP and Media Center.

Sorry to disappoint.
