When i tried to see the album info, in pane album or artist, the WMP10
goes
to page:
<http://metaservices.windowsmedia.com/cdinfopages/album.aspx?..>
and give the expected information, but when i trie to find album info,
for
correct some informartion, insted of going to page:
<http://metaservices.windowsmedia.com/CDWizard/CDWizard1.asp?WMPFrie..>
the WMP10 goes to:
<http://compaq.services.windowsmedia.com/cdwizard/default.asp?Partn..>
and i have IE error server not found or DNS error.
Well, i have use in the past this option and did work fine, and so i
have
already reinstall the WMP10 and the version reported is 10.00.00.3802
and
says that there isn't no more updates over xp sp2.
Thanks, for any help

I know it's a bit late, but I have recently encountered this problem as
well. After much gnashing of teeth, I finally found the solution. This fix
is really simple:

Explore to ..\Windows\System32\ and look for the file oeminfo.ini. You can
just delete the file, but you'll lose the OEM support info that is displayed
on some Windows pages. To keep everything intact, open the file in Notepad
and look for a line that says "Manufacturer=Compaq" (no quotes). If you
delete the line completely, or set "Manufacturer=" (blank) you'll lose the
little Compaq logo on the System Properties page. If you want to keep the
logo, change the line to something like "Manufacturer=My PC" or simply
"Manufacturer=." (no quotes). Now, open Media Player and use the "Find Album
Info" feature. If all goes well, you should be directed to
metaservices.windowsmedia.com instead of compaq.services.windowsmedia.com.
