What sound card do you have?
Is this on XP or Vista?
Is there a driver update available for your audio card?

the sound in windows media player 11 is distorted/echoing how can i stop
this it is mainly when playing cd's/dvd's from disk music that I have put
on
the hardrive seems ok most of the time
