Re: WMP 11 pauses tracks after ~5 seconds of play Vista Ultimate 6

The slideshow should be unrelated...
If you turn off Enhancements, does this work better?

It is not in the system tray... but going to control panel - sound, right
clicking, etc enhancements are enabled. The driver is a msft driver and
it
states no current driver update is available and that mine is the most
current. I don't know if its related, but my "slide show" for my pics
quit
working as well. It shows that he slideshow is loading and the screen
goes
black, and nothing else.. I can see the cursor when I move the mouse. I
believe both of these issues started at the same or nearly the same time.
I
have done no hardware changes to my system since building it.

Thank you for your time. Any other suggestions? Should I re-load
windows.
I did partition out the "C" drive when I set the system up initially for
the
OS, knowing that I have had to re-install Windows in the past on other
systems and versions.

If you right-click on the Speaker icon in the system tray, select
Playback
Devices, right-click Speakers in that new dialog, and go to Properties,
are
"Enhancements" enabled there?

Is there a sound card driver update available for you from the vendor?

I am using the mobo's sound card. It's an asus M2N-Plus SLI. I have a
correction to make to my previous statement. There is one cd I had
placed
in
my saved playlist before the problem started and it still plays fine.
Any
songs I add to the playlist still have the issues I described above.

As the subject states... It started doing this a week or so ago and
I
hadn't
made any changes, installs, downloads what-so-ever to effect this.
I
tested
burning a cd to see if it was a corrupt file and the cd plays fine.
Also,
the songs play fine if in a playlist.
Is there any way to re-install, or fix either via download or my os
disk?
Do I need to reinstall the os completely? I know I was able to do
"fixes"
with my os disks before.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
