What kind of media files do you have that you burned with Real? If
they are Real .rm, .ra, etc Real format files, you likely need to
convert these to .wma, .wmv etc type of files. There are many programs
available to convert between many different file formats, although
those that will convert from Real to other formats are not as common
as some others. You have to pay for many of these programs. You lose a
little quality when you convert between file types, especially if the
file you wish to convert is highly compressed.
I have the AVS video converter. I just converted a Real rmvb(Real
media variable bitrate) video file to a Windows wmv file using it, and
the quality was decent. I don't have a program to convert Real audio
formats to anything else, since I nearly always rip audio as a high
resolution wav that is best for use on audio editors. Then I convert
to a lower resolution compressed format if I want to use the audio on
a web page. If you want a wma or ra for the web, both Microsoft and
Real have free programs for encoding from a wav, among a few formats,
to a compressed wma or ra suitable for web delivery.
If you wish to convert a Real video file to something else, including
a wmv, you can download an evaluation version of the AVS video
converter. It watermarks your converted videos, so if it works for
you, you would have to buy the program to make unmarked converted
videos. Go to http://www.avsmedia.com/ and look for the AVS Video
Tools set. This includes the AVS Video Converter. When I downloaded
this the first time to evaluate, there were no unwanted guests such as
virus, worm, or spyware additions. There are likely other programs
that would work, but I have not evaluated others in detail.
If you have long and high resolution videos, conversion can be slow.
Hopefully you do not have a huge number of videos to convert.
