STRANGE I've looked in the event viewer & it shows no error(s) under
Application or any other category! So I guess that means that the
applications ( WMP11 & IE7.0) are simply closing-out as normal? but they are
not!! WTF?

CKD,
This almost sounds like a video driver problem. Do you have the latest
drivers from the manufacturer?
When you say WMP crashes and returns to IE, are you saying that the full
Windows Media Player program launched and then crashed, or that you're
watching videos in an IE window and try to go to full screen then?
Also, any time you experience a crash, if you submit the crash
information
to Microsoft, an entry is made in the Event Viewer for Applications. The
entry will contain a label with the word Bucket in it, followed by a
number.
That number helps Microsoft employees view the information so that we can,
perhaps, see what caused the crash.

I've tried WMP 10 & 1, same problem on both.
My OS is XP Home sp2.
When watching WMP type video streaming files, I get no ability to view in
"full screen" mode.
I've tried alternative Video players as well (like the KM Player) &
results
is same exact problem.
I've added additional codecs from "XP all-n-One" program, results: still
no
fix.
So I'm asking this NG regulars for help, because my Goggle searches have
failed me.
For some reason I get a black screen or the video plays in the "full
screen
background" but the video window itself remains in the same size or the
background flashes black momentarily then WMP program crashes (and
returns
to IE screen), also sometimes, so IE 7.0 crashes too.
Help would be welcomed.
