You can use the Quicktime player to play those files. The Standalone
(non - iTunes player download) is usually a better idea.

Once you pay Apple for a Quicktime Pro license, and enter the key in
Quicktime, the player is upgraded to enable editing and format
conversion tools, so you could save to a range of formats like MPEG4
or AVI uncompressed video.
