On a related note... How fast is WMP11 in dealing with albums on a
networked drive?

In my case, I'm running Windows Home Server with about 700 albums on a
shared drive. I added the drive to WMP11 on my Core2Duo machine
(Vista Home Premium)... After it took a long time to find all of
them, it's annoying to scroll through the "album" view. In other
words, scrolling takes _forever_, about 5 or so seconds each time I
turn the scroll wheel. It's almost like WMP11 contacts the server and
downloads the album art _each time_ the album art is needed, instead
of loading it all at ones or caching it locally.

Any thoughts?

those, I would imagine.

FAI won't work onnetworkdrives at this time. The right people are aware
of this.

I have the same exact issue... absolutely maddening that this doesn't work
as it should. One difference is that I'm running WMP11 on Vista Ultimate,
so
I don't think that I even have the option of going to WMP10. Also, you
can't
install WMP11 on 2003 R2, so it's not even an option to update the info on
the server. If anyone finds a workaround, please post.

It appears that if your content exists anywhere (i.enetworkdrive)
besides the local machine (where WMP runs), this option simply vanishes
off of the right-click menu (see attached pic). I did a test by copying
MP3's to the local C drive of the MCE machine, and added them to the
library. I have the option only on the locally stored media, not on the
networkstored mp3's. I have tested this on a regular XP SP2 system,
same issue. This is indeed a Mediaplayer 11 problem.

I realize that I could either copy & paste artwork for every missing
CD/MP3, or revert back to WMP10 where the option is available. It just
seems absolutely idiotic that Microsoft would miss or restrict this
option fornetworkstored content.

Ideas?
