The problem is I have a library of ~6500 songs that I just loaded on
this system from another system. Now, when I start WMP 10, it almost
immediatly caused the CPU load to go to 100% and completly disables
the system. I have let it sit for 24 hrs thinking maybe it was
reading through the library, but nothing changed. Are there any
setting I might fool with that could possible fix it?
-Jim
Clarification:
I just rechecked my library (on disk). 57 Gb 20,075 files 2943
folders
-Jim
I have heard some complaints when libraries get above 10,000 but I haven't
experienced it myself. I don't really think it is legitimate. Zach has said
that WMP has been tested with libraries of a couple hundred thousand tracks.
I do wish they'd used a provider model so that users could cuoose SQL Server
instead of a proprietary library format, though. That would significantly
speed up database operations.
I suspect that it is just a corrupt database. When you imported that many
rows at once, who knows what could have gone wrong. Try renaming the folder
your library database is in following the steps at
http://www.zachd.com/pss/pss.html#medialibrary.
