Yeah, the field totally utterly sucks. I'm lucky enough to have enough
wherewithal to track down the rare great CDs I want, but without that -- a
lot of people are flat out of luck. There's not really great solutions
within the CD world or the DRM world, and stuff like mash-ups and mix-ups
("The Grey Album")... still finding a place in the world.

From a CD standpoint, look at how you'd collect all the tracks on a Moby
album.

It's a sad world here. Hopefully it gets better all the way around, but I
don't think the CD distribution mechanism can be a long-term solution given
how things are now. I'm pretty good at tracking down rare stuff, but when
only 1% of the most hard-core Art of Noise fans know that the French release
had a great bonus track... *sigh*.

I'll keep rooting for CDs too. EIL, GEMM, eBay, and Amazon will keep taking
my money when the local Silver Platters can't. =)
