Go to Tools->Options and then the Library tab, clear the check box for Retrieve additional information from the Internet.
On the Privacy tab, clear the check box for Update music files by retrieving media info from the Internet.

I've been tidying up my music library in Windows Media Player 11, but when I
change some information, it always wants to revert back to whatever it was.
For example, in Advanced Tag Editor I amend the artist name from ACDC to
AC/DC. When I save & before I can blink an eye, it has reverted back to ACDC.
I looked at it recently, and it shows DC; AC/DC; AC/DC as the artist name. I
tried to go to the file to amend, but this doesnt help at all. It doesnt
happen to all files, just a select few. This is the same with the Genre. Can
anyone help?
