Does tweaking the video card driver settings help? From what you've said so
far, that seems like the source of the problem-

I'd probably start by unchecking WMP's
Tools:Options:Performance:Advanced:Use Video Mixing Renderer. WMP fixed
some code there a while back, and it expose some bugs in existing video card
drivers.

What changed before this happened? Did you upgrade your video card
driver
or did you install a codec pack? Either tweaking the video card driver
settings or removing an installed third party video filter (codec pack
case)
should fix you up.

this is getting to be somewhat frustrating now, while playing streaming
video
the image will flip upside down, for instance when i minimize the
window,
or
change between tabs, or just in general.... typically after a few
seconds
it
goes back to normal but every now and then my computer will freak out
and
media player locks up and then my computer and i have to reboot. is
this
or
has this happened to anyone else? anyway to fix this?

(i am using a dell dimension 4700, pent 4, win MCE, 1GB ram, with media
player 11)
