Have you tried rebuilding the library using the directions at http://www.zachd.com/pss/pss.html#medialibrary?

I managed to rollback to WMP 9, then tried installing WMP 11 on top of that,
only to get the same missing library message. If my Restore function worked
properly I'd use it, unfortunately I can't use the back button to go back in
time.

It could be that your software has moved everything around.
