Re: Embedded WMP + Vista crashes - samples provided

Weird, the 5200FX is exactly what I have here, and experience no
problems with the tests ;-) Wonder if it's video driver related ?

Your tests crashes my IE7 on Vista Ultimate as well. The problem for me
seems to be my Nvidia GeForce 5200 card (secondary card). Everything was
working fine with the GeForce 7600 GS installed alone. Sames results after
clean install.

I've unfortunately found two different ways to crash Internet Explorer

** Sorry - in Vista Ultimate - can't see a reason why Busines should
behave differently though. Perhaps Dale or Zach can try it on their
"crash test dummy" boxes ?

Neil:

Thanks for spending the time testing. I've been running this on one
'real' machine and several Virtual PC builds with Vista Business, plus
a 'real' machine with a pre-release of Ultimate and a friend's machine
with a final of Ultimate. All but one of these builds crashes. I'd
really like to find out the difference between the one that works and
the several that are broken, but they appear to have all of the same
settings and patches. I keep thinking there is a setting somewhere
that might fix this, yet I've had no luck in finding that to date.
Perhaps your machine is set up like the working one?

When running the test I provided, it is important to let the audio
start playing so that WMP can start casting events. But it sounds like
you did everything right. I normally experience a crash after playing/
reloading the page 3-6 times.

I would love it if some other users out there could provide similar
feedback. The link to the test is here:

Thanks again,
