AlbumArt_guid_blah.jpg is associated to the tracks that are album GUID.
(The GUID isn't interesting to you, really - it should be apparent what
album the file is for).
thumbs.db is just a cache of thumbnails for the image files in the folder.
albumartsmall.jpg and folder.jpg are backwards-compatibility files for the
shell so the shell can display album art too appropriately. Unfortunately,
the folder/albumartsmall scheme doesn't handle multiple albums per folder
well, which is why album art has partially moved to the "new"
albumart_guid_size.jpg file naming scheme.
1. How: when ripped by WMP or when album art is pasted for a file that
contains an album ID.
2: See above. Find Album Info should typically establish the AlbumArt_guid
files.
3: It's a property of the metadata for the file which is associated to an
album art file (if one exists).

I see the following 6 system files in some of my music folders:
AlbumArt_{Contains Numbers and Letters}_Large.jpg
AlbumArt_{Contains Numbers and Letters}_Small.jpg
AlbumArtSmall.jpg
desktop
folder.jpg
Thumbs.db
Other music folders only contain the "desktop" file and others don't
contain
any files in them.
1. Do you guys know how and when these files are created?
2. Also, why is that some folders have the 6 files, others only have the
desktop file, and then others don't have any of those files?
3. Where is the information that creates these files, is it in the mp3
music file?
THANKS
