Re: Copy a video file to a different computer for playback

Sure : Take a *copy* of the file (right click the file, and choose
Copy) then Paste it into a new folder.

Now we're not about to screw up the original file ;-)

Next, rename the file - remove anything after the bb.wmv part of the
file name. You can click the file name once then after a moment, click
it again to rename - or just right-click it and choose Rename from the
menu.

The last step is to buy one of those 1GB memory sticks for about $10.

Plug it in to the PC, and drag the renamed WMV file to the memory
stick. Go to your friends house, plug the memory stick into their
machine and try the video from there.

Always worth trying to play the file from the memory stick at your own
machine before walking across town though.

Okay...I tried that and I got two message boxes that popped up...one
said:
"The file you are attempting to play has an extension that does not
match the file format. Playing the file may result in unexpected
behavior". I click yes and then get the message "Windows media player
cannot play the file. The file is either corrupt or the player does
not support the format you are trying to play.". I can open the file
inside the TIF directory and it plays fine using Windows Media Player
9.0.00.3349. The videos in question can be found at

Thanks again for any help.
