Re: WM 11 burn distortion- help!

Another way to reproduce this effect would be if you're burning Data
CDs rather than Audio CDs (but it happens your car player can play
back CD disks containing MP3 files)

If you go to WMP burn tab, click the small dropdown arrow then look at
the top 2 options - is it set to Data CD or DVD ? If not, make sure
volume levelling is turned off.

If it *is* a Data CD, go to More Options menu. At the bottom, look to
see if "Convert to" is ticked, and the slider is at the very bottom
end. If you've set those to convert audio, then at least move the
slider to the Best Quality end of the range, or turn off Data CD
altogether and create Audio CDs.

No, I played them in my car stereo and they sound just as bad. Where is
the WMP equalizer? Where are the controls? I have an equalizer for my
XFi card, but not WMP. I downloaded Ashampoo Burning Studion 6 and it
works beautifully. However, I like the WMP interface best. I am
stumped! Any more advice?

Does the CD play ok in a standalone CD player ?

There's a good chance you've changed the equaliser settings in WMP to
make it sound that bad, if that's what you're playing it back in.

I just upgraded to WMA 11, hoping it would help...not! I cannot get any
good copies of burned CDs using Windows Media. I like its interface the
best but it produces lousy burned cds. I set all vol. controls in WM
and my computer to half. I tried slow burn speeds, and high quality CD
blanks. Nothing works. I even bought a new Pioneer burner! Still sounds
horrible. I can use Nero Essentials and it works beautifully, but I
don't like the interface. Also got great quaility with Creative Media
but the program is a mess and I don't like it. What is wrong with the
burn process with MM?
