In the Library tab of the property pages (Menu->Tools->Options) you can set
the Monitored folders. By removing the rip folder from that list, you may
be able keep them from being added to your library. I haven't tried it
because I rip CD's specifically to get them added to my library.
As for your other question, I never buy music online - I'm not comfortable
with DRM - so I can't help you with that one.

Hello,
In tweakui, I set my music folder to E:\Music. In WMP11, my rip folder is
set to E:\Music\ripped.
1. Why are music files I purchase downloaded to my ripped folder and not
the
default music folder? How can I chage this?
2. How do I prevent the ripped folder from being added to my library. I do
not want the songs I rip from CDs added until I can edit the
tags/filenames/etc. Under the add to library option, I am unable to
"remove"
the ripped folder from the add to folder or moniter folders options. Is
this
another bug in WMP or is MS trying to idiot-proof WMP by limiting its
functionality.
3. Why can't people that actually listen to music be involved in designing
and writing software for managing/playing music (problem not just limited
to
MS).
Thanks for any suggestions.
