Re: Album with wrong information

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I have searched for appropriate albums when WMP finds the wrong one, selected the correct album from the matches, and when I start WMP the next time, the incorrect information is back again. I have also searched for album information when WMP gives the wrong information, selected to manually enter the information because WMP didn't find any correct match, and still come back later and WMP has replaced my work with its erroneous information.

WMP replacing our correct information with erroneous information is the primary reason we use iTunes for importing our CDs. I never use any commercially available player for listening - sort of. I wrote my own app that calls WMP using the Windows Media API for listening. Other than on my development and test machines, I never let the WMP UI touch my music files.

And good luck on getting any official response, or even an unofficial response from a Microsoft employee about the online database.

On the whole very cleaver and saves a lot of typing in but......

The wrong info is a problem.

I have discovered on som occasions that the wrong info can be corrected by
selecting "find album info"(FAI) and search for the correct info, if its in
the database just click finish to update.

However, I have various albums where it will find the correct info for disk
1 of 2 but when i search FAI it doesent even list the info its hasd already
provided ????
What has ben provided listed under data provider is "user feedback" great
its right!, but where is disk 2 of 2 or even disk 1 as it doesnt show on the
search

Is this monitored by microsoft emplyees? are any of these issues answed in
an offical capacity?

album example "kiss hitlist summer 2002"

Blackadder.
