Re: Windows Media Player no CD burner

Soooo...we have to go through that convoluted procedure every time before using WMP11 to burn CDs?

I think not, and I will keep using my WMP10 to burn CDs.

I recently upgraded to ver 11 and when I went to burn a CD I got the

burning CD's from my library for the past year without any porblems.
I can burn CD's using Roxio and MusicMatch Jukebox but I would rather
use Windows Media Player. Anyone know how I can get the CD burner
back to the Media Player?

I found that Roxio Drag to Disc, even if not loaded on startup, was preventing WMP from seeing the burner, in the sense that it kept asking to insert a CD.
I solved this by right clicking on the drive icon, where I had an option 'disable Drag to disk for this drive' Clicking on that, WMP could recognise the burner and see the inserted disc, and burn to it. So check to see if you have that option.
BTW That context menu item changes to 'enable drag to disc' so the change is reversible.
Also I noticed that I have to disable drag to disc for the drive after every PC restart.

My Roxio drag to disc came with Easy media creator suite 9.
