Re: Windows Media Player Library Odd Behaviour

If you have a lot of files you value then it's important to keep them backed
up away from the reach of media management programs (all of which touch the
files in the background). I suspect you may have some damaged headers on the
files (what format are they?). Testing them for playback with WMP on another
computer would sort that out.

It would help to clarify what you mean by "locked". How does that manifest
in WMP and WinAmp?

It's also possible you have d/loaded some malware with your p2p program
which is interfering with playback or your files.

Hi again.
I'm sorry but I forgot to mention, I uninstalled WMP 11 and switched
back to 10. The uninstallation was done in a method as described to one
of the users here on these groups (uninstalling WMP 11 then restarting
and then the runtime file then restarting again and then the framework
file, etc.). Also I attempted a System Restore after the uninstallation
was over. But then that failed too. And my folders and my files are
still locked and unplayable.
