? I'm confused. If you download that file, change the extension to .wmz
and open it with WMP, voila, WinAMP 2.x UI, with Window Shade mode.
Could you clarify what I'm missing here? =)

Thank you for the reply Zach, but I didn't see that this worked for the
new
beta. Near as I can tell, the skins are a bunch of XML files now.
Additionally, it seems that this doesn't really alter the functionality.
I
really love just being able to double click and have an interface that is
perfectly sized, and has all of the buttons. The small version for v11
doesn't have the repeat/shuffle buttons.
Anyway, like I said, the new beta is nice. Windowshade mode would really
be
a great addition though.

Look up the WinAMP Skin Converter power toy, or whatever they called it:

, for example, has Window Shade mode. And may look slightly familiar
since
it's just an imported WSZ. =)

It's the only thing that keeps me from using WMP for everything. I
know
you
can put the toolbar in the taskbar, but that doesn't work for me
because
my
screen real estate there is very limited. I always have to have 2
rows,
and
even then wind up having to fight to keep things from scrolling. Title
bar
area is almost always available though, which is why windowshade mode
is
so
ideal. Couple that with mouse-out transparency and docking, and they
have
the perfect interface for controlling what is playing. That said, your
player is better at everything else, and I really love all of the new
changes
to WMP11. Just this one, very very important item, and I can make a
complete
switch.
