What you did was "rip" CDs into WMA format - the original CD is not WMA. WMP allows you to rip in other formats like MP3.

Files bought from online stores are protected WMA files and cannot be converted directly. You'll have to burn them to an AUDIO CD and then re-rip to MP3. Again, you'll lose fidelity in the process.

Some of my CDs I uploaded onto my computer just came out WMA. Then I also
bought a single track and it came as WMA. Thank you for the information
regarding finding a converter, I am going to give it a shot :)
