Re: Can't listen some web radio in WMP11Beta

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

As others are able to listen to the radio station sites have referred to, I
have continued to dig on the issue. Just by a coincidence I came across the
following text "OS Updates--Do not reinstall any version of Microsoft Windows
in any way after you install Internet Explorer 7. Do not upgrade in place or
upgrade to a new edition. The workaround is to remove Internet Explorer 7
Beta, install operating system updates, and then reinstall Internet
Explorer." on http://msdn.microsoft.com/ie/releasenotes/default.aspx

Well, I have had MS to update my PC whenever recommended. So, one department
on MS does not know what the other is doing.
As I understand it, there has been several updates of XP since I loaded the
IE7 Beta, and when I then also loaded WMP11 the OS could not cope anymore.

I have tried with uninstalling updates, IE7 and WMP11, but I still have
problem with the same radio stations. I am considering to make a "repair of
XP", but I am afraid I just mess it up even more. A formatting and a reload
of XP is not on my agenda at the moment. It must wait until I get a new
computer with Vista, when the computer can be the others memory back-up.

The fault indications I now get are sometimes pointing to IE6, sometimes at
WMP10 (.exe files)

If you are sending fault reports, those crashes should be looked at by the
proper teams. Sending those up is very helpful.

I lost hundreds of thumbnails, not the automatic ones, but those I have
found
on Internet and pasted myself in to WMP.

It was not possible to reinstall WMP on the existing version. Following
instructions on MS home page, I rolled back to version 10, and after that
I
installed WMP 11 again .

In connection with this, my IE 7 Beta 3 was also deleted, why I had to
install that one as well.

When testing to listen the streaming I tried again, batanga.com and DR.dk.
But still, when changing channel within the "station" there is a fault
report
sent to MS, and the IE7 disconnects. I think I during the last weeks I
have
sent maybe 50 fault reports.

What is bothering me is, that some people does not have this problem.

Yes, the information about the music files is stored in a location not
touched by the uninstall/reinstall.

Well, I have still problems. I can listen to the music, but the error
is
still there. When shifting channel or disconnecting.
I am using Windows XP with the latest updates, IE 7 Beta 3 and WMP 11.
I am accessing those sites through Windows Explorer, as I have not been
able
to do directly from WMP11. (In WMP10 it was possible).

When I acces those sites with Real Player, it works fine.

Maybe I should reload WMP11, but can I remove the current version
without
loosing any information on my music files???

Both Batanga and Sky worked for me in current builds - if these work
in
current Vista builds, it would seem that this beta issue has likely
been
fixed.

Error information displayed "ModName: wmnetmgr.dll ModVer:
