I have found another problem, that is slightly annoying.
I use WMP for all my video playback, and so I go to watch a video that I
have watched using WMP10 and it doesn't work, and I mean, doen't work at all.

I tried it in QuickTime and it worked, but not WMP, no, not at all~
Not even audio, but of course the scroller at the bottom works, the Title,
length and other such data displays, as the scroll bar ever so gracefully
scrolls accross the bottom of the Player. Big fix needed here, I did in fact
try multiple videos, none of which worked, this needs to be fixed!

Now if only we knew what *type* of video it was, we'd all be less in
the dark. The general aim of a beta program is to post as much
relevant information as possible when you discover an issue, rather
than just to operate as a griping mechanism.

By a process of elimination, I conclude it wasn't an WMV file (unless
you have Flip4Mac, on a Mac which precludes WMP11). It couldn't have
been a real player file. And .mov files don't play in WMP at all. H263
is unsupported in WMP (there are no usable decoders). It's unlikely
you've come across much Sorenson or Theora encoded video, and Cinepak
and Indeo are just plain old and impossible to find (thankfully). Even
less likely are HuffYUV, Dirac (BBC player codec) and others.

So it may have been one of these common formats :

MPEG2 (maybe packed inside a VOB container)
MPEG4
H264 (with appropriate X264 decoder)
AVI (with practically unlimited video content types)
DivX or XVid video

The solutions to each of those playback types depend on *what* it is.

So shall we try again ? Why not get GSpot and run it on the video, at
least it can give us some info :
