What i want to know is does microsoft care about there X64 customers

Absolutely. Any release for any platform requires due diligence against
that platform. This is the US beta of Windows Media Player for Windows XP
Service Pack 2 only. That is what it has been tested against. This player
is slightly newer than the version that's currently available to Windows
Vista beta testers, but the player will also not install there - this
particular version of the player has not been tested against Vista.

Codename MAX, WMP and desktop search beta is 32bit only and yet NO X64
support and also it took some time before we even got IE 7 beta 2 which XP
users got first before X64 my question is why the lack of X64 support.
Does microsoft not care about there X64 customers and like to leave them
behind.

Microsoft - no company really - could not release any piece of software for
an operating system without due diligence. As Kip wisely once said, "we're
simply not a garage software company" - we're held to a pretty high
standard, even for betas.

I've got a 64bit system too, so rest assured I will pass along your
suggestion/request to the right people. =)

Cheers,
-Zach
