Well... you're right -- one way or another, I guess I give too much credit:
if they are not moderating posts, then they have a problem with their list
manager...
I'll try to re-post again later and see what happens...

You give far too much credit - this is just an NNTP newsgroup, with minimal
(at best) monitoring. I see three posts of yours in this thread - if there
was a deletion, it can't be for content/criticism of MS (that's not a valid
selection in the newsgroup tool). ... ?

wmpWow...
I made a post criticizing Microsoft about how they do their WMP software
updates and about how they build a new WMP database - I *thought*
reasonably
constructively - ie: I gave concise real-world examples about why the
current
approach does not work, why their practises are unfair.
They have decided not to post that message... that's a shame.

WAV can have metadata. There's some weird way for MIDI to have it too.

Well, there is no indication that they would listen, if I did.... :-)
Does anyone know if the databases are actually compatable? If not,
then
obviously installing WMP10 over top of a WMP9 installation process
updates the database. (I can see that the database name has changed
from
_59R.wmdb to _219.wmdb Renaming it, does not work - I tried.)
Anyone else out there?
Each version ignores the previous version's database and rebuilds from
scratch. So if you have metadata stored for file-types like WAV or MIDI
that can't house their own metadata then you have a lot of work to
replace
that data. Strangely none of this is brought to the user's attention...
