What is it you want to do ? Most XML editors (such as Oxygen or XMLSpy
home) can edit the XML file format used by .wpl. The question is what
do you need to change, and would it be better automating that task ?

My wife ripped hundred's of her music cd's and in her library playlist a lot of the files have put the artist name under album and nothing in the artist column.
I'm trying to get a fast and simple way to correct this.

I'll have a look at writing something tomorrow, but I'm not sure we're
talking about the same thing. You say you want to edit WPLs ? They are
playlists, not library entries.
The two things are quite distinct ... you would create a playlist by
dragging album tracks into the playlist, then saving it (it's saved as
a .wpl file type)

However if the *original* data in the Library is junk - album
interchanged with artist, then that's unrelated to wpl, it's a library
/ metadata lookup issue which rearranging the data inside the WPL
playlist files wouldn't have any effect on.
