hi. id like to migrage my .wma lossless rips CD library into MC10, but can seem to find a utility or plug-in to automate the process.

the library contains over 1000 albums in the following library format:

OK - big-ish, but not vast ;-)

Folder: Artist Name - Album Name
Filename: Artist Name_Year_Album Name_Track#_Track Name_Genre.wma

currently, the only method i can see is a track-by-track conversion to WMP format using its built in search utility.

What do you mean by "conversion to WMP"? WMP handles WMA, MP3 and WAV formats natively.

this requires entering the track
name, album name and artist into 3 search fields and then selecting the most likely album for track and album art info. this info is not saved in the search panel from track to track,

so when moving on to the next track, one
essentially has to repeat the process from scratch. to add insult to injury, these fields are not cut & copy friendly, ie WMP loads the entire trackname in its current format into the search panel under the track argument, but one cannot cut or copy portions of this info into the other panels search arguments.

The Album Wizard is frighteningly un-user friendly.

the prospect of searching down 15,000 + tracks manually to import my library into WMP is a show stopper.

can anyone suggest a utility or plug-in that might help?

Not really. If you don't have any metadata, then it will be a slow process as regardless of how you get it in, you WILL have to manually check all entries since the online database is rather hopeless. Once you do have metadata attached to files, you should not waste time getting it backed up (along with album art) so you don't get screwed later by online metadata changes.
