Re: preserfe file system structure on sync

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

*sigh* but my device ain't 'some device', and WMP knows this (it uses
artist/album/song structure)

I would use some other sync tool, like robocopy, *IF* I found a way to
access my ratings.

I only want to sync 4 and 5 star music to the device. And so far I got
no clue how to access this from, say, robocopy. Or from any other tool
than WMP.

You could use ActiveSync or other copy interfaces to do this, I'd think. =\

Hi,

I got WMP 10, and syncing music to my Archos Gmini xs 202s.

This does work so far, but I got a big problem:

Finding the right music. For example if I look for something like
'Katie Melua' I've got to scroll all way down to K since there is no
way to jump to all artists starting with K directly.

So far this sounds like a problem with my mp3 player, doesnt it?

But what I want to do (and have done to my music on computer HDD) is to
have 26 subdirectories A..Z, and in each dir I'd place all artists
starting with that character.

On my HDD this is working great, and if I copy my files by hand to the
XS202s selecting does work like charm on the device. Only trouble is
WMP, since I found no option to achieve this result.

Is it possible somehow to get the artists into subdirs on syncing? Or
will I have to 'sync' by hand?

Thanks,
Sam
