Re: WMP 10.0 Crashes halfway through ripping CD

It does rip to mp3 just fine. So it seems to be a WMA problem only. I also
rotated my monitor back to landscape but it still crashes on WMA, so the
monitor rotation doesn't seem to be the issue either. The only other thing I
can think of is the NVIDIA drivers, or since I have automatic updates turned
on maybe my computer installed a patch that broke it.

If "18648456" is the bucket number, I'm not seeing this... maybe remind me
in a week and I'll check again then and see if it's in the logs then... ?

This shouldn't be randomly crashing, of course. If you tell WMP to rip to
MP3 instead of WMA (using WMP's Tools:Options:Rip menu), does that avoid the
crash... ?

After upgrading to the latest version it is actually much much worse. It
now
crashes on the second song. Furthermore, when I went to the event viewer
to
see if it was the same bucket number it said that the application log was
corrupt.

That crash isn't listed in the tools right now... if you download and
reinstall the player on top of itself from
http://windowsmedia.com/download
(giving you wmplayer.exe version 10.0.0.3802 ), do you get the same crash
bucket number?

I am ripping CDs to WMA 128kbps. I have succesfully ripped 100+ CDs
without
a
hitch. The only thing I have done to my computer since the last
succesful
rip
was to install the lastest Nvidia drivers for my video card and
rotate
my
monitor 90 degrees for portrait mode viewing. Could this be a bug?
