My Media Player (for Windows XP Home) only plays on one speaker and is very

How do I fix this?

That would probably be the player's Graphic Equaliser settings doing
that, found under View -> Enhancements -> Graphic Equaliser menu.

There's a Balance setting there as well, but initially just click the
"Reset" link to get things back to normal.
