Hey zach.
I'm still getting the "Server threw an exception" error when converting
MP3 to WMA.
OK - but that has nothing at all to do with this topic... hijacking threads
just makes it that much harder to keep track of stuff.
Is there any way to resample to lower bitrate while keeping the file as
MP3 in WMP? WHy must it convert to WMA, my device is happy with MP3?
(However I would like to shrink the files before synching - 256Mb won't
hold many 224kbps MP3s.)
Any more advice on the "..exception" error? (see my other thread that
you briefly commented on for details or ask me).

A: The Sync settings can be set under WMP's
Tools:Options:Devices:<device>:Properties:Quality.
B: That's about all I have to say. If I don't know about something, I try
not to sound like I do. It's just not an area that I've played with
much/any.
C: And logically, if you need to downsample your content, there's over a
thousand different converters out there that would be happy to do it for
you. So if you're blocked *here*, there's many different solutions to get
that downsampling down.
