I can't say I blame you really, sounds like you had a bad experience.

At least now you know your files as MP3s will play on all of :

WMP
iTunes
Real Player
Quicktime
MP3 portable player
iPod / Shuffle / etc

Which is of course what you want, in the end - choice of what to do
with YOUR music - with no artificial DRM encumberances.
