Apple iTunes audio is compressed using the AAC codec. To play those
files, WMP would need a "directshow AAC codec". Luckily, there is one
http://coreaac.corecodec.org/
However, almost all files fomr the iTunes store also have DRM (digital
rights management) applied to prevent them being copied or played in
anything not Apple sanctioned.
The specifcation for the Apple DRM has not been released, so there are
no (to my knowledge) ways to "unlock" any DRM content from the Apple
store to be played on other than iTunes or iPods.
