Nero 6 kills my media player 9

Ok, I've tried this on two different computers with the same result.
With WindowsXP media player 9 I can play all my dvds. I also have an
ATI dvd player installed and it works just fine too. if I instal Nero
6.3.1.20 (OEM Suite) I can no longer play dvds in media player 9. An
error with copyright somethin-or-other appears. I also had intervideo
(since removed) and it also comes up with that error. The ATI player
will still play dvds. go figure.

2 computers (XP PRO and XP Home) same result. I go back to the previous
restore point and all is well... of course no Nero. Is there a way
around this problem? Nero is doing something funky with Media Player 9
(and intervideo) and the way it reads dvd codecs.

Thanks
Randy
