I found a solution...
Turned out one of the programs I installed used a codec from Main Concepts.
It was an mpeg2 codec but it was messing up my mpeg1 playback for some
reason. I found it by using Microsoft's DECCHECK tool. I then did a search of
my whole computer for mcdsmpeg.ax AND mcspmpeg.ax and renamed all of them
with a .old extension. Fixed the problem!
