Hi Leslie, I am working at Microsoft investigating these Individualization failures. Please let me know if you are available to consult further on the error you are receiving.
I am having the same problem on both Windows Media Player and MusicMatch Jukebox.
The machine is a Dell Dimension 4600 (2.8 GHz P4, 512 MB RAM) running Windows XP Pro with SP2 and all patches. It is standalone - no network. Also running ZoneAlarm Pro 5.5.094.000 and Norton Antivirus 2005.
Songs which I have paid for and which I have played many times before, suddenly do not play. When I try to play them, I get a second or two of sound followed by the message "Error:c00d271d.c00d271d" and the music stops.
No, I do not have any user on this system who is or ever has been a member of the Guest group, so the Microsoft article on users who are administrators and also members of the Guest group does not apply. This is the only "solution" I've seen mentioned on the Net and I've searched for hours. I see lots of postings from people having the same problem - just no real answers.
I haven't tried to play any songs for weeks; my son noticed the problem when he went to play the songs he had downloaded from MusicMatch a few days ago.
Could this have anything to do with the fairly recent Windows XP security updates? We had a problem at work with HTML help not working, which required a registry tweak to enable it again.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Steve
I neglected to mention the versions of Media Player and Musicmatch Jukebox - they are both version 10.
I just discovered that I can play some of the tracks listed in Musicmatch Jukebox. It seems like the only ones I _cannot_ play are the ones with an icon that denotes they are "Purchased Musicmatch Downloads Track" - strange. I did buy a lot initially from Buymusic.com - maybe those are the ones marked with an icon denoting "Normal MP3, WAV, WMA or mp3PRO track". Those play fine.
Why would Musicmatch Jukebox refuse to play a track it marks as a purchased download? Media Player acts the same way so it seems like it is a license issue, which is a tad odd since I bought every track on the list.
Bizarre...

Solution found!
I uninstalled, and then downloaded and reinstalled Musicmatch Jukebox - it was that simple.
Now all songs play and in Windows Media Player, too.
Go figure...
Steve .
