Hi.
I got a media player problem recently. And the problem is that whenever i
play a video file in any of my media players (VLC media player, Winamp and
Windows media player 10series)
The problem that I have is that when I play a videofile or stream one from
internet the video is kind of white or "foggy" "pale" and the quality of the
colours is really bad, the colours are kind of inverted and strange.
Now before I posted this here I asked the people in the Winamp technical
forums and I got this response:
"Winamp does not alter media system files so I don't think Winamp is to
blame. However, try the following in Winamp
Winamp > Ctrl-P > General Preferences > Video > check or uncheck 'Allow
hardware video overlay' (or check/uncheck Allow YV12 overlay mode) > close &
restart Winamp"
This fixed the problem on winamp so I wonder if there is any settings in WMP
that is the same or if you pro's know the equivalence of this in WMP.
Anyway I asked the guy in Winamp if he knew how to fix the other media
players and he said:
"Otherwise, your video card/driver may have it's own video overly
control(s)/setting(s) and will vary with the video card
Right click on the desktop wallpaper > Properties > Settings tab > Advanced
button > there may be a tab (or tabs) for your vid card
-or-
Control Panel > Display icon > Settings tab > Advanced button > there may be
a tab (or tabs) for your vid card"
I tried this out and this didn't fix the problem in VLC or WMP so please can
anyone here help me. Just having Winamp as a media player isn't good enough.
