Hello Itsmee,
I have received emails from two people one had three images
of settings and nothing I have yet received has
made any differences at all in solving my troubles.
It is obvious to me that it is my wanting to use only V1
mp3 tags is what is causing the problems with WMP10
I have tried upgrading WMP to its most recent version
and still it will rewrite my V1 mp3 files and make them V2 tags.
I have used system restore to roll back and still
it rewrites my V1 mp3 files to make V2 out of them.
My home player will not play anything but V1 so
in effect WMP is corrupting my files to make them
incompatible with older hardware players.
There is absolutely no settings in WMP to dictate terms to tell
it how you want it to treat your MP3 files when playing or after playing
or anything at all. If you have not received a reply from me
then either your email got lost a victim of Yahoo spam screener
or the reply I sent went to the wrong email address ???? :-(
I have answered all emails I have received that indicated an answer was necessary.
I do not care what your delusions or misconceptions are regarding
WMP10 because I have certain evidence here on my machine that
WMP10 is behaving as MALWARE by rewriting my MP3 files after I play them.
What I need to do is send someone one of my v1 mp3 files
with all important MD5 text file then let them play the file
and see for themselves the MD5 will change as well
the file will be 4096 bytes larger in size as well
as the V1 tag area will be corrupted.
WMP will not touch any mp3 file that is already V2.
Possibly your mp3 files that you are using to test things
with are V2 and not V1.
I can not forgive Microsoft if they have let WMP write files
when they are fully expected to only be played.
Sincerely,
BuddyBoy
