win xp media 10

installed media 10,codex pack from msn. cannot recieve streaming video.when i
try dvd i get audeo but no pic.i've uninstalled and reinstalled.zip.been to
msn help sites and told could be firewall problem. advises open add.
ports.the help ends there. i don't know how to do that and dont have a
supervisor. lot of help there. any assist will be great. ralph
