Go to the File menu and choose "Work Offline". This is the only thing
that worked for me after trying just about every discussion thread I
could find. Good thing too, I was about to take a sledgehammer to my
laptop if i had to hard reboot one more time. Special thanks to Zachd
for putting that page together, I just started trying random
suggestions and got lucky. I also uninstalled Norton and removed all
Non-Microsoft Codecs that I could find. When I'm feeling lucky I'll
start putting them back on and let you all know if it causes more
problems.
I use WMP 10 on a Toshiba Satelite Pro with the following specs:
XP Pro SP2, 1.1 Centrino, 512MB RAM, 40GB HD, nVidia GeForce, Norton AV
05
Best,
Brett
